Mr Jones said young people, even in primary school, being taught "adult-type issues" has led to "mental illness concerns" in schools.

"When we went to school you and I, we weren’t burdened with adult-type issues," Mr Jones said.

The question of political content, moral teaching, social teaching, that is the preserve of parents.

"Our young people have lost their greatest assets: innocence and a sense of fun."

Mr Jones also spoke with ACU Senior Research Fellow Dr Kevin Donnelly on the issue.
