ACU Senior Research Fellow Kevin Donnelly has said while there used to be a humorous side to political correctness, it has gone far enough that it is “no longer funny”.

“It’s a serious business that was humorous some years ago, but now I’m afraid it’s a form of cultural left groupthink and the destruction of language, as George Orwell appreciated in 1984,” he said.

Dr Donnelly is set to formally launch his new book titled ‘A Politically Correct Dictionary and Guide’ in Sydney on Monday, in which he tackles the issue head on.
